Panoramic photo is any wide-angle view (from 90 to 360 degree) or representation of a physical space. Seeing panoramic photo, people will feel like standing in front of the magnificent view.
In the very beginning, photographers need to shoot a series of photos and stitch them together to make a panoramic photo. Later, with the development of digital photography, more and more digital cameras have panorama shooting feature integrated. However, although panoramic photos are cool, it’s really not cost effective to buy a new camera for this. Things will be easy if you are using iPhone. There are several apps in iPhone App Store available for taking panoramic photos, such as Wondershare Panorama™. I recommended this app to friends but sometimes the results are not good enough, so we summarized some tips and tricks for taking good panoramic photos with Wondershare Panorama™.
Tip 1: it’s also the most important tip —- select a proper scene or view. Most breathtaking panoramas are capturing continuous high mountains and tall buildings, but it is hard to find a position to capture these as panoramas. So we recommend you capture the places with wide angle of view, such as the landscape of your city, a mountain or a lake nearby. The panorama should be captured with long distance, and nothing blocking.
Tip 2: no moving objective in the scene. If there is, the results cannot be good. Wrong stitching points, no entire display or even ghost shadow may be found in the panorama. You can see the blurry part on the road in the panorama below, it looks OK here. But if some objectives nearby moving, the results will not be so pleasant.
Tip 3: move iPhone horizontally and steadily when capturing. Some people move the phone too fast when capturing, the results may be weird with some parts missing. Here is the right way to capture panorama with Panorama™: hold the phone right to the scene, turn your body and move the phone from left to right slowly and steadily. Please make sure it’s not too fast and all the details can be captured.
Tip 4: How to end the capturing. Maybe the workflow is designed to be too flexible, sometimes users are confused. Tap “Capture” to start, user can tap the button again to stop. Or, the app will stop automatically when the process bar at the bottom runs out. Pretty easy, right?
Try it out if you have any interest, it’s quite entertaining.

I downloaded Panorama to my iPhone 4S yesterday and I really love it. This is the best panorama app I’ve ever used. I used to capture panorama with another app — 360 Panorama, and I thought that 360 Panorama has done a nice job in panorama stitching, but now, Panorama™ is the one.
Actually, Panorama is quite the same as 360 Panorama. Snap, move steadily from left to right, and panorama comes out. It’s hard for me to tell the difference between Wondershare’s Panorama and Occipital’s 360 Panorama at the shooting part. What struck me the most is the editing feature from Panorama, which lets me add cool effects to panorama that I took. There are 12 different effects to choose from. No other panorama apps can do such thing. Panorama™ gives panorama stitching more fun than ever.
Besides, I can share the awesome panoramas to Tumblr. I use Tumblr most of the time and always want to share photos with my Tumblr followers. 360 Panorama can only support uploading to Twitter, Facebook and its own community. I guess that Occipital aims to build an image community just like Instagram does, but I don’t think that is a good idea. In Panorama, you would share your works with friends via Email, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and most popular social networks in China. Cool, right? I think so.
Panorama releases its new version today. I found that I could take pictures with real-time effects in this new version. This is another feature, which cannot be found in other apps. The developer gave me a big surprise. Panorama is recommended in Apple Store now, and they deserve it. There are one more spotlights, that Panorama is totally free! Waste $0.99 to buy 360 Panorama or enjoy panorama with free yet more powerful Panorama, everyone can make the decision without any hesitation.
Get Panorama right now via the App Store for free, please do let us know what you think of this application, thanks.

PowerSketch has a simple yet extremely well-executed concept that makes capturing photos all the more fun. It comes packed with several beautiful filters (which, in this case, are better than those found in most other similar apps) that can be applied to the camera feed in real-time, so users can always preview the effects before capturing it. Unlike most other similar apps, PowerSketch lets users utilize the front camera for video recording, which makes the app worth its while.
By default, the camera mode is selected on launching the app, which can be used to capture photos instantaneously. Using gestures (well-explained within the app), PowerSketch can apply the available effects before capturing the image. Effects appear in a dock along the bottom of the iPhone’s screen, but with room for only five at a time, so users have to swipe to see the rest. If they are not sure which effect should be used in a particular scenario, they need to tap the Randombutton located at the bottom of the screen, and PowerSketch will do the rest.
The USP of the PowerSketch is, as the name suggests, making out sketches from photos. These sketches are so elegant that they resemble finely drawn pencil sketching by incorporating tiniest details. They look like the works of an artist, while still retaining many details of the original photo itself.
The app also allows users to import photos from their local library or capture new photos to create and share gorgeous collages out of them within seconds. To top it all off, it comes packed with some pretty good frames that can be applied to the collages while editing.
Photos and videos have a date label, geotag information, and can be copied to users’ camera roll instantly if desired. The photographic endeavors can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, YouTube, and email. However, the user-interface really needs some tweaking I think.
At USD 0.99 it’s well worth downloading the app and giving it a try. PowerSketch is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later.
